The Great North

We are headed to Whistler, British Columbia, home of one of Canada’s finest golf courses. This small resort town is located in the southern Pacific Ranges of the Coast Mountains – these mountains stretch from the southern Yukon to the Fraser River in BC. The stunning majesty of the mountain range is a perfect complement to this intricately designed course. Welcome to Fairmont Chateau Whistler Golf Club.

  • This course was built in 1983 and is Arnold Palmer’s first design in Canada.
  • It was ranked:
    • The #5 Best Public/Resort Course in British Columbia
“Top 20 Greatest Golf Destinations,” by Golf Digest
  • The course is known for having the best view of the world-renowned Whistler and Blackcomb Mountains.
  • The course was designed and built around nine lakes that are fed by two winding creeks. This unique setting ensures a spectacular backdrop of wildlife, including: bears, coyotes, beavers, and an abundance of birds and fish.
  • In fact, the views of wildlife at Chateau Whistler are so spectacular, the Club features a “This Week’s Bear Viewing,” on its website. Needless to say, it is incredible. Check it out!

“Three things make a great golf course: scenery, challenge and fun; and my course at Whistler has them all” – Arnold Palmer
